Dragon Quest VIII Mimic Papercraft

Here's a new fan made video game papercraft from one of the best RPG of all time. It's a mimic papercraft from Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.

The mimic monsters in the game disguise themselves as normal treasure chest, try to open one and you'll get a free surprise, and no - it's not treasure. They're mostly found in abundance at the Pirate's Cove and when killed they usually drop Iron Nails. Download this Dragon Quest papercraft free at the 333bankin blog, it's in Japanese but the pattern is highly visible on the page, so just click on it to save or download.

Paper Girl

Minami Design Office has created this life sized anime-type, lolicon-inspired girl papercraft and has aptly named it "Paper Girl". They're selling it for around $74 locally, you have to contact the site to place an order. The papercraft is eerily proportionate, down to the bits. The free stuff on their site includes an electric guitar papercraft and a mouse pad papercraft, all emblazoned with Paper Girl's likeness.

I don't know what to think of this, I'll just let you guys make your own conclusions. But before you head to the link, please note that some photos on their web site are NSFW.

Realistic Beetle Papercraft

3DPaper is a Korean papercraft (commercial) site that designs and sells proprietary and licensed paper models. They have provided two very realistic insect papercrafts available for free downlaod on their web site.

In case some of you are interested to know where these insect papercraft got their names, the one on the left is a stag beetle (Lucanus maculifemoratus), it's a species of beetle belonging to the Lucanidae family, it has a very large and distinctive pincer that closely resembles stag (male dear) antlers. The other one is a Japanese Rhinoceros beetle (Allomyrina dichotoma) which belongs to the Scarabaeidae Family. Just by looking at its giant horn you can clearly see how it got its name.

BC Butler Designer Papercraft

Have a look at this new find, it's got a fresh look on designer papercrafts. This is from the Brainjar Paperdesk web site and they've just released their first papercraft model. It's called the BC Butler and it's one of a few papercraft models I know that has another purpose besides looking good on display. The BC Butler also serves as a business card holder, hence the BC in the front. The pattern is well thought out and the design is very nice, there are two available - one with the original colors and the other is left blank for those who want to do their own coloring. Download it free at the link below and don't forget to greet the designer. Office people, this one's for you.

Lamborghini Papercraft - Gallardo

When you see a Lamborghini, you see power, performance, elegance and a very unique style. It's top of the line both in and out. It makes heads turn and (fill in the blank) drop whenever it drives by. An avid fan of the car, Japanese designer 74式 has this mustardy yellow colored Lamborghini papercraft (Gallardo) waiting on his garage for you to download. But before we head on to the pattern, would you believe that the Italian State Police (equivalent to the Highway Patrol here in the US) uses Lamborghinis as their patrol vehicles? I didn't believed it until I saw that BBC NEWS article below.

Oink! oink! oink!. We've just previously featured their site on our Designer Papercraft - Series II, but Jerom's blog has already cranked up a new paper model. This time it's a Simpsons papercraft featuring Homer's Spider Pig. For those that haven't seen the movie, check out this funny clip.

And for those wanting to sing along, here are the lyrics:

Spider Pig, Spider Pig
Does whatever a Spider Pig does
Can he swing
From a web
No he can't
He's a pig
Look Ooouuuttt!
He is a Spider Pig!

Papercraft designer Atom has done it again, here's another cute creation from his Glue2 Chronicle site. This chibi-type anime papercraft is from the same series that we previously posted (Kira Kira) and is named Sarina Kashiwara. The first one that we featured was the Kirari Siino papercraft back in January, along with some of Atom's other great works. This Sarina Kashiwara papercraft has two versions, one has her carrying an electric guitar while the other has her arms stretch out on the sides.
