  1. Hayabusa mission has not failed. They have multiple problems during all the mission but all of them where brilliantly solved. The satellite is about to return to Earth two years later than expected.

What are you reading? I'm talking about their main goal. Hayabusa has failed its primary objective of collecting "quality asteroid samples", JAXA is now hoping that some dust particles got trapped in Hayabusa's sampling chambers so that the mission wouldn't be a total failure.

  3. @Ron,

Im talking about what the Hayabusa team prior to launching the satellite defined as "success". You can see it at the bottom of this page: http://www.isas.jaxa.jp/e/enterp/missions/hayabusa/today.shtml

In any case. Its not my intention to create any controversy.

BTW, thank you for your blog. I'm a daily reader and I have my house full of papercrafts from your blog!
