Tales from Earthsea Papercraft (Gedo Senki)

A very brave soul called Tehanu has posted the Tales from the Earthsea papercraft pattern (ゲド戦記Gedo Senki, ) on her blog, aptly named, Tehanu's Flight. In it you can see a sort of insight on how the poster completed her dragon. On the book itself, there are two forms of dragons that you can build, one is on a sitting posture and the other is flying. If you like it or if you are a big fan of Studio Ghibili or papercrafting, please buy the book to support the author/creator.

Final Fantasy X Papercraft - Rikku

The great Ninjatoes has done it again, this time it's the claw wielding Al Bhed girl - Rikku (リュックRyukku, ) from Final Fantasy X. GuanYin Papercraft - Goddess of Mercy

Maritan Papercraft

Just received this one today (thanks to anon sender btw), it's a girl called Maritan, don't know much about her but I did find a post on the JapanSugoi web site about her, check out the entry below. There are two Maritan papercrafts here, first is Maritan with a gun (7.41MB) and the other is with a sword (16.2MB). Have Fun!

The web comic follows the life of Maritan who is a Princess from the Magical Kingdom of Paris Island, which has signed a treaty of co-operation and friendship with the USA.

Maritan’s day job is as a Drill Instructor (modelled like the U.S. Marines) who trains new recruit Army-tan, under the supervision of Lieutanent Commander Navy-tan. There’s also GA-tan a meganekko メガネ attached from the Japanese Self Defence Forces.

GR-8 (Giant Robo) Papercraft

Just released today, check out the GR-8 papercraft from the official Giant Robo web site.

For those in the dark, Giant Robo (ジャイアントロボ), is a manga and tokusatsu series created by famed Japanese manga artist Mitsuteru Yokoyama, who also happens to create that other popular robot series, Gigantor (Iron Man #28). The Giant Robo web site has been steadily releasing papercraft after papercraft of their beloved robots to coincide with their celebration of Giant Robo's 40th anniversary. All papercraft robots on their site are created by Chokipeta.

Honey and Clover Papercraft

Today we've got a new Chokipeta papercraft model for you guys, this is from the Honey and Clover (ハチミツとクローバー Hachimitsu to Kurōbā) manga series created by Chika Umino. I honestly don't have a clue as to what it's story is all about, but after some googling, I found out that this is a dramedy/romance series of some sort, of which I'm not a big fan. But in any case, I know there's a lot of you who would like this and would love to add it to your papercraft collection.

I'm not going to give a background story for this one because I don't like drama stories, but if you would like to know more about it, the Honey and Clover wiki entry is here. I will just point out that the blonde girl papercraft model is named Hagumi Hanamoto (花本 はぐみ), 18 years old??? I can't find any info. on the rabbit.

As usual, like the other Chokipeta models, this Honey and Clover papercraft has very good form and assembly is a cinch. I would like to thank our subscriber Snake from the Futaba channel for sending the papercraft pattern, that's two in a row friend, thank you. Well, here you go, have fun!

Papercraft Critters

Found a new papercraft site this week, JR Fabito's PaperCritters.com

It's quite unique in its presentation, the site runs on Adobe Flash and describes itself as an online application for creating and sharing paper toys. Once you get started, you'll be greeted with two options - either go to the Toy Creator or choose The Colony.

The Toy Creator is pretty much self explanatory, you'll be able to design their pre-made pattern to one that suits you. They've also implemented a lot of tools that include markers, shapes, stencils, and colors that can be tweaked to your liking. After creating your paper toy you have the option to preview it in a 3D mode environment to see if you need to do some editing or if you didn't like the job you did, you can just simply clear it and start all over again. Another cool feature is their Toy Classification Score, you basically have 4 categories upon which you can rate your creation (Cute, Evil, Loyal, Rebel). And when your done with your paper toy, you have the option to either save, share, or print. When you decide to save your work, your given the chance to showcase your stuff in The Colony.

The Colony is the collection of paper toys that other people have designed and shared with the community. So pretty much, it's a great site if your starting out with papercrafts and like the idea of customizing your own or are actually artsy. Go check out and have fun.

Viking Papercraft

We don't have anything unique today (I'm still working on it), so well have some Viking papercraft for now. Why Vikings??? I'm not quite sure, I just randomly selected from the finished models that are waiting to be posted. It's from Canon 3D Papercraft, under the Buildings of the World section of the page. Plenty of good and easy paper models that will keep you busy while I finish something new.

The Incredible Hulk Papercraft

At this year's San Diego Comic-Con, the Marvel films panel revealed some details on one of next year's highly anticipated comic book movie, The Incredible Hulk. What? your probably thinking, hey, didn't they do a movie of the Hulk already? yes they did, but it was a crappy version so they're doing this remake. There was also some new info. on the Iron Man movie, but we'll stick with the green guy for today.

We all know that Ang Lee's 2003 version of the film aptly named "The Hulk" didn't get a warm reception from the regular moviegoers and fans alike, hopefully this time, with a new director (Louis Leterrier) and a new cast (Edwarton Norton as Bruce Banner, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross and Tim Roth as Abomination) they'll come up with a better script and an improved and better CGI. It's scheduled to be released for the Summer of '08 but until then here's a Hulk papercraft from okipapa for all the fans out there. The PDF is roughly 9MB, and has a hulk-size 19 pages on it, good luck with this one.
