Pepakura.net

Marshall Alexander Scratch the previous posting ^^, i totally misread this one, was following the Tweets from Marshall and I got his new site update (he didn't change sites and still has that awesome minimalist design that you love) and this thing with Pepakura mixed up.

Our friend Marshall Alexander has a new paper toypaper toy site, check it out, the new domain is at Pepakura.net - what do you think of the design, you like the old or new?

  1. What happened? the old design was better, I don't like this new one, are you even sure it is Marshall's site?

It looks like it transformed from a Mac (sleek, sexy) to a PC (bloated), the site is littered with unsightly ads that don't even blend well with the rest of the design.

  2. The source is from his original site, yes, this is the real deal.

    I'm not touching the Mac/PC thing ^^

  3. I like the first one, this new site seems off in a way.

  4. I hit the "More" link and was taken to the German front page with errors at the top.

Instead of products, I get an ad where the product should be.

    70%? How generous.

    Credits?

Searching Pepakura in Google doesn't bring up the page.

The design of the sites lacks.

  5. The new site is all it needs to be for me. A place to find all of the papercrafts created by Alexander.

It is in its infancy surely it will change here and there as time goes on.

Everyone should stay focused on what brought them to the site rather than the site itself.

    My two cents.

  6. Stay focus on what? there's no new paper toy in the site, of course everybody is going to focus on the site design.

When somebody says they've got a new web site, it's just natural to compare it with the old. You've stayed long enough in the "Nice" forums, welcome to the real world.

  7. Hello All,

Just want to clarify something. Pepakura.net is NOT my new site. I redesigned my own site which is still conveniently located at www.marshallalexander.net.

Pepakura.net is a great new project initiated by a couple Germans that provides us papertoy designers the opportunity to store our PDF's in one central place. At the moment I'm the only one who has uploaded some material, but you can expect toys from other designers soon too.

  8. Thanks for the clarification Marshall, I was reading it off your Twitter feed and I got your new site update and the Pepakura thing mixed up.
