Honey and Clover Papercraft

Today we've got a new Chokipeta papercraft model for you guys, this is from the Honey and Clover (ハチミツとクローバー Hachimitsu to Kurōbā) manga series created by Chika Umino. I honestly don't have a clue as to what it's story is all about, but after some googling, I found out that this is a dramedy/romance series of some sort, of which I'm not a big fan. But in any case, I know there's a lot of you who would like this and would love to add it to your papercraft collection.

I'm not going to give a background story for this one because I don't like drama stories, but if you would like to know more about it, the Honey and Clover wiki entry is here. I will just point out that the blonde girl papercraft model is named Hagumi Hanamoto (花本 はぐみ), 18 years old??? I can't find any info. on the rabbit.

Papercraft Critters

Found a new papercraft site this week, JR Fabito's PaperCritters.com

It's quite unique in its presentation, the site runs on Adobe Flash and describes itself as an online application for creating and sharing paper toys. Once you get started, you'll be greeted with two options - either go to the Toy Creator or choose The Colony.

The Toy Creator is pretty much self explanatory, you'll be able to design their pre-made pattern to one that suits you. They've also implemented a lot of tools that include markers, shapes, stencils, and colors that can be tweaked to your liking. After creating your paper toy you have the option to preview it in a 3D mode environment to see if you need to do some editing or if you didn't like the job you did, you can just simply clear it and start all over again. Another cool feature is their Toy Classification Score, you basically have 4 categories upon which you can rate your creation (Cute, Evil, Loyal, Rebel). And when your done with your paper toy, you have the option to either save, share, or print. When you decide to save your work, your given the chance to showcase your stuff in The Colony.

The Colony is the collection of paper toys that other people have designed and shared with the community. So pretty much, it's a great site if your starting out with papercrafts and like the idea of customizing your own or are actually artsy. Go check out and have fun.

Viking Papercraft

We don't have anything unique today (I'm still working on it), so well have some Viking papercraft for now. Why Vikings??? I'm not quite sure, I just randomly selected from the finished models that are waiting to be posted. It's from Canon 3D Papercraft, under the Buildings of the World section of the page. The Incredible Hulk Papercraft

At this year's San Diego Comic-Con, the Marvel films panel revealed some details on one of next year's highly anticipated comic book movie, The Incredible Hulk. What? your probably thinking, hey, didn't they do a movie of the Hulk already? yes they did, but it was a crappy version so they're doing this remake. There was also some new info. on the Iron Man movie, but we'll stick with the green guy for today.

We all know that Ang Lee's 2003 version of the film aptly named "The Hulk" didn't get a warm reception from the regular moviegoers and fans alike, hopefully this time, with a new director (Louis Leterrier) and a new cast (Edwarton Norton as Bruce Banner, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross and Tim Roth as Abomination) they'll come up with a better script and an improved and better CGI. It's scheduled to be released for the Summer of '08 but until then here's a Hulk papercraft from okipapa for all the fans out there. The PDF is roughly 9MB, and has a hulk-size 19 pages on it, good luck with this one.

Tetris Papercraft

Tetris (Тетрис) is considered by many as one of the greatest videogames of all time, since it's inception in 1984 by Alexey Pajitnov (Russian computer engineer) it has gone through a lot of variations and has been available in many video game consoles, PC's, PDAs, portable media players, mobile phones, and even graphing calculators. Another interesting fact about Tetris is that it became very popular and highly successful when it was released through the Nintendo Game Boy handheld system as a pack-in title. So, to give homage to one of the great video games ever created, here's a Tetris papercraft from Japanese designer Hiyochico, who's also designed the Catbus papercraft that has been previously posted here. Every gamers favorite British heroine, Lara Croft, from the Tomb Raider video game series is now in papercraft form thanks to Ninjatoes. This is a great model to add to your collection, great form and even greater curves. Samurai Cow Papercraft

Here's a unique looking papercraft, it's a cow character suited up in the a traditional Japanese armor and helmet riding on top of a giant fish. I couldn't understand what my translator was saying, it's got something to do with a Japanese celebration for the month of May? In any case, I can tell you that this is from the Mansei Co., Ltd. based in Kanda, Tokyo. The company went through a lot of phases to get to where it is now, it started as an electronics store, then became a restaurant selling high-grade meats, and currently as a luxury dining establishment - specializing in beef and beef related dishes.

They've got some other cute papercrafts, dioramas, and origami models on their site that you should check out, of course, all of them have the familiar cow theme to them. On their homepage, click on the "mansei club" icon to see the goods.

Toro Papercraft

I'm a bit late on this one, but Toro (井上トロ) aka. Sony Cat, Sony Computer Entertainment's cute and lovable fictional character celebrated it's birthday last May 6. And with that celebration they've put up an official papercraft model for it, there's a lot of other good versions floating around the net, but this one is probably the best one to date.

For those in the dark, you've probably seen Toro at some point in your life but you might have thought it was a Hello Kitty knock-off. It's an anthropomorphic white cat with an over-size head, triangular ears, rectangular body, and a variety of facial expressions. It first came to life way back in 1999 as a video game character in the game Doko Demo Issyo ("Together Everywhere") for the PocketStation, if you missed that one because it was ages ago, another version of the game was released for the PSP back in 2004.
