Tarutaru

You've got the Moogle, the Cactuar, Bahamut, and now here's another Final Fantasy papercraft model that you can add to your collection, the Tarutaru is from Square Enix's MMORPG - Final Fantasy XI:Online which was set on the fictional world of Vana'diel. The Tarutaru are a race of skilled mages who live alongside the Mithra in Windurst, having a racial prejudice towards magical studies, they have a higher reserve of magical power (MP) and excels at Black/White/Red Magic and the art of summoning. The only downside to their abilities as with other traditional spellcrafters is their lack of durability (HP) and strength which makes them extremely vulnerable to physical attacks.

If your anywhere near Escondido, California - here's a unique paper exhibit at the Mingei International Museum (North County) that's comprised of two similar paper art forms. "Origami - The Art of Paper Folding" on the first floor - has dinosaurs, animals, and other origami objects which was made by a group of 25 artists and the second one is called "Crowning Glory", located on the second floor, it's filled with 250 elaborate hats made out of brown paper bags from Hawaiian artist, Moses. The museum is also giving free demonstrations on Saturdays to learn simple origami and the exhibit will run through July 21, 2007.

This is a cute and simple papercraft project made by Henk Stolker. Best printed on stiff paper or thin cardboard. The pdf file is available in colour or black and white which makes it great for kids craft to be used in schools or at home. It takes only a few minutes to assemble this cat box. Disney's Stitch - Experiment 626

From the animated feature movie Lilo and Stitch, we present the Stitch (Experiment 626) papercraft model - he's blue, mischievous, nearly indestructible, bulletproof, fireproof, night vision and infrared capable, can move objects 3,000 times his size, and extremely cute. Handle with care when adding to your papercraft collection, he has a tendency to destroy everything he touches. You have been warned!

Pornogami

Origami, the Japanese art of paper folding has long been a family oriented past time, from the young ones all the way to the young once. But recently, a new style has branched out geared primarily for the adult practitioners of origami. Marc Kirschenbaum, 37 yr. old native New Yorker and Master Origamist has started doing Pornogami, yes that's right, Pornographic Origami. Although sexual material in the 3D paper model world has been around for a while, it's not that very common in origami because origami purists would like to keep it G-rated. Marc has done pornogami for Playboy (vagina) and Maxim (copulating bunnies) out of dollar bills, and is a board member of OrigamiUSA.

Final Fantasy Papercraft - Bahamut

Now that I'm back, I want to make it up to my subscribers for all the silent months that went by without a single post. Here's a paper model of Bahamut, my favorite Final Fantasy summon of all. I don't have an assembly instruction for this one, but it's pretty simple to figure out, I've posted a lot of high quality pictures on Flickr so that you can visualize how to put him together. Good luck and enjoy!

Back From The Grave

I'm looking for people who would like to join Paperkraft.net as a contributor/blogger. If you have crazy skills in paper crafting (paper models, origami, etc.) send me an email describing why you want to join and some sample photos of your work. You don't have to design your very own paper craft, you can create whatever model you can find on the net and then take pictures of it like you would if you where going to post it on a blog (so I could see your photography skills). Obviously you will also need to have your own digital camera or whatever it is you use to take pictures (having a video camera would be nice but not necessary). There will be no financial gain in this endeavor(coz' there isn't any), only a chance to show the world how great you are with paper crafts.

Final Fantasy Papercraft - Cactuar

Oi paperkraft netizens, here's another Final Fantasy paper model, this green cactus-looking character is the Cactuar (also known as Cactuer, Qactuar, Cactrot, and Sabotender). It's main features are two black dot-eyes, an oblong shape mouth, three red quills on the top of their head, and their trademark pose, stiff arms and legs. On the Final Fantasy video games (FF VIII) they are best known for their 1,000 Needles (Defensive attack), which deals exactly 1,000 hit points of damage to an oponent, regardless of defenses. There was also a Jumbo Cactuar that had the 10,000 Needles attack, which was kinda like an instant-death attack since prior to FF X the maximum number of hit points for a character in FF is limited to 9999. If you noticed that my Cactuar is of a different color (blueish top, green legs) and not solid green, don't panic, it's because mine is of a different breed, it's a color-shifting Cactuar (also known as Printerus Hasno Inkus). This paper model stands about 6" tall and 4" wide and comes with a stand (not shown).

Moogle Papercraft

One of the most loveable characters to come out of the Final Fantasy series is the Moogle (Moguri, Japanese), they are small, good-natured creatures that are usually white or tan in color and has a protruding antenna from its head with a small red, orange, or yellow ball at the end called a "pompom". They have either red or purple wings with ears shaped like a cat or rabbit. You'll know it's a moogle when you hear or see the word "kupo" which is their trademark sound. Next to Chocobos, the Moogles are often considered mascots for the Final Fantasy series. They first appeared on Final Fantasy III for the Famicom (Eurasia) and as Final Fantasy VI for the SNES is North America. Square Enix is going to bring an enhanced remake of Final Fantasy III, updated with 3D visuals to the Nintendo DS by November 2006. Of course Japan will have it first by 08.06 then Europe by 09.06, then finally NA. This moogle paper model was hosted by Takuya, but their site is down so I hope they won't mind if I host it in rapidshare. Enjoy!

Catbus (Nekobasu)

Here's the Catbus paper model from the movie "My Neighbor Totoro" (Tonari no Totoro), which was created by the famous anime film maker, Hayao Miyazaki. This paper model is pretty basic, cut-score-fold-glue. There are two types of format for you to choose from, one is in JPG and the other is PDF. The finished paper model is quite small, about 8cm L x 2cm W x 4cm H. Now you have a new Ghibli paper model to go along with Totoro.
