Classic Car Papercrafts - Chevrolet Confederate Roadster

Canon Creative Park has a new collection of car papercrafts rolling out featuring vintage classics - aptly called the "Classic Car Series".

The first car in the series is the 1932 Chevrolet Confederate Roadster, considered by many as one of the most outstanding Cheverolets ever, it outsold Ford by 100,000 units during the Great Depression era of the 1930-40s.

In keeping with its 'Baby Cadillac' nickname, the Confederate was characterized by flamboyant style to rival its V16 Cadillac cousins. With a luxurious interior and an extensive range of features, its specifications also lived up to the 'Baby Cadillac' name.

Sailing Ship Papercraft - Esmeralda "The White Lady"

The Esmeralda (aka La Dama Blanca / The White Lady) is a barkentine tall ship that belongs to the Chilean Navy. It's hull is made of steel and has four masts to support its twenty one sails.

Shipbuilding on the Esmeralda, planned as a training vessel for the Spanish navy, first began in 1946. However, after an explosion the following year she remained unrepaired for several years, due to worsening economic conditions and other factors. Shipbuilding later resumed when it was decided that the Esmeralda would be transferred to Chile for purposes of debt repayment. In 1953 she was finally launched before a sea of onlookers, and has since sailed the waters of the world.

The Shoebill (aka Whalehead) is a very large, long-legged bird that gets its name from its gigantic shoe-shaped beak/bill. It's similar in appearance to the stork and makes its home in the swamp lands of east Africa. Shoebills can grow as high as 5 feet tall, weigh as much as 16 lbs., and have a wingspan that stretches over 8 feet.

This is another fine example of good quality organic (curvilinear shape) papercraft replica by Japanese designer Ikuo Anazawa.

Airwolf Helicopter Papercraft

How about an Airwolf papercraft? Canon didn't really call it that, but it sounds a lot better than just helicopter papercraft. Designer K. Kiyonaga used the same Bell 222 twin-engine helicopter that Airwolf was based on.

A helicopter is a type of aircraft that has rotary wings. The engine causes the long slender wings, called rotors, at the top of the helicopter to rotate, providing lift and allowing the helicopter to fly.
